Plant Sterols and Heart Disease

In recent years, the Food and Drug Administration approved a health claim for plant sterols and heart disease. The FDA states that “Foods containing at least .65 grams per serving of plant sterol esters, consumed twice a day with meals for a daily total intake of at least 1.3 grams, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.” A one caplet serving of Res-Q LDL-x2 With Niacin (Res-Q LDL-x2), contains .65 grams of plant sterols, taken twice a day with meals, equals a daily total intake of 1.3 grams of plant sterol esters. The FDA further acknowledges that “the scientific evidence established that including plant sterols in the diet helps to lower blood total and LDL cholesterol levels.”

Plant Sterols are an active ingredient in Res-Q LDL-x2. Res-Q LDL-x2 works in conjunction with Res-Q 1250 to promote good cardiovascular health by promoting circulation and cholesterol well-being. The plant sterols in Res-Q LDL-x2 reduce the absorption of dietary cholesterol and inhibit the re-absorption of body-produced cholesterol. Res-Q 1250 provides the proper balance of omega-3 fatty acids for good cardiovascular health. Since the total cholesterol number consists of both the triglycerides, and the LDL cholesterol, it is a good idea to take Res-Q LDL-x2 and Res-Q 1250. Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin is the first choice for complete cardiovascular health. However, Res-Q LDL-x2 is also available without Niacin for those who request Res-Q LDL-x2 without niacin. We recommend that our first-time buyers purchase our Basic Starter Pack which includes many extra Res-Q products for free as a bonus!

What are the ingredients in Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin?

Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin contains plant sterols, policosanol, and No-Flush niacin.
Plant sterols, called “phytosterol esters” occur naturally in many plants and foods, but not at a level which reduces cholesterol. Only from supplementing the diet with a sufficent level of plant sterols can you achieve maximum benefits for cholesterol well-being. Plant sterols inhibit the absorption of cholesterol in the digestive tract providing the additional benefit of working on the dietary portion of cholesterol.

Policosanol is an all-natural extract from the sugar-cane plant. Although policosanol is derived from sugar cane, it is from the waxy coating of the sugar cane, and therefore does not contain any significant amount of carbohydrates. It is also safe for Diabetics.
Since policosanol is gentle and does not cause side effects, policosanol is a new, all-natural alternative for those who want to avoid traditional supplements. Since policosanol improves circulation, has an antioxidant-like effect on cholesterol and promotes the clearance of cholesterol, Res-Q LDL-x2 is an excellent partner for Res-Q 1250, enhancing circulatory and arterial health benefits.
Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin contains No-Flush Niacin, which is also called “inositol hexanicotinate,” or “inositol nicotinate.” This all-natural form of niacin does not have any adverse side effects, which makes it wonderful for promoting circulation throughout the body; blood flows to the heart and other organs by promoting arterial relaxation and expansion, opening up the blood vessels for more room for blood to flow. The lack of side effects is attributed to No-Flush Niacin’s unique molecular structure of niacin molecules that surround inositol, a B vitamin. Niacin is also called “nicotinic acid,” and is the cardiovascular form of Vitamin B3. Niacin has been shown in clinical studies to increase HDL, the good cholesterol, and encourage the larger more buoyant type of lipoproteins that tend to be more cardioprotective.

Upon request, Res-Q LDL-x2 is also available without niacin (Res-Q LDL-x2 Niacin Free). However, Res-Q LDL-x2 with niacin is the preferred formula.

Complete Heart Health Part V: Oxidized Cholesterol

Which is more harmful “cholesterol” or “oxidized cholesterol” ?

It seems to me that everyone worries about their cholesterol number, their LDL cholesterol number, since research established an association with LDL cholesterol levels that are elevated, much higher than normal, and increased risk of cardiovascular heart health risks. For this reason, you may not hear about the role that antioxidants play in heart health and the importance of obtaining antioxidants in the diet when on a cholesterol health program, even though there is also a connection between heart health and fruit/vegetable intake rich in antioxidants.

Cholesterol is a waxy substance that plays a role in our body, and has a purpose. However LDL cholesterol that has become oxidized adheres more easily to the arterial wall, thus inhibiting circulation and blood flow to the heart.

Antioxidants help inhibit the oxidation process which makes cholesterol harmful to the arteries. In fact, the medical reports that the doctors read, report that oxidative stress has been linked to arteriosclerosis in postmenopausal women. The importance of antioxidants for heart and cholesterol health can not be underestimated.

For this reason, we recommend using Res-Q CellPower, an antioxidant supplement, for those taking Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin and Res-Q 1250 to continue to maintain their cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range, because the reason we watch our cholesterol levels is to promote the health of our arteries.

Res-Q Resveratrol, and Res-Q Multi may be used along with Res-Q CellPower for additional antioxidant health benefits. Using multiple antioxidants together may provide further health benefits.

Does your diet consist of antioxidants?

How does Policosanol in Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin work?

Over 90 scientific abstracts on policosanol reveal the safety and health benefits of policosanol. In fact, policosanol may be used with omega-3 supplements made from fish oils to help maintain a cholesterol level that is already normal. In a clinical study, policosanol did not have a direct effect on the activity of the enzyme HMG-CoA Reductase. Policosanol promoted LDL cholesterol binding, processing, and degradation in the liver. It is proposed by researchers that policosanol may work in the liver at an earlier step in the cholesterol synthesis pathway. The exact mechanism is not fully understood. However, we do know that Policosanol does not directly inhibit the same enzyme in the liver that statins work on, and is gaining recognition and increased popularity for this reason, especially as people turn to supplement use to seek new, safe solutions to better their health and longevity. Many clinical trials to determine the efficacy of policosanol compared policosanol with low dose statin drugs.

It is important to take Res-Q 1250, our potent high quality omega-3 supplement with Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin to help maintain a cholesterol level that is within the normal range. Studies show that combining omega-3 with policosanol provides better results than taking either one alone. Since policosanol supports the normal bodily function of the processing of LDL cholesterol in the liver, and omega-3 fatty acids from fish oils encourage triglyceride reduction, and both LDL cholesterol and triglycerides make up your cholesterol number, taking both supplements would provide the best cardiovascular health results.

Res-Q LDL-x2 is available with Niacin for maximum cardiovascular health benefits. Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin is the preferred choice for optimal cardiovascular health. Res-Q LDL-x2 is also available without Niacin.

What are the benefits of Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin?

Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin is formulated to work with Res-Q 1250 and Res-Q Cell Power for the best cholesterol health benefits. Our customers who are maintaining their cholesterol levels that are within the normal range take Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin and Res-Q 1250, our safe and effective omega-3 supplement. Since the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA impact triglycerides, and are good fats, it is important to take Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin with Res-Q 1250. The triglyceride number affects the total cholesterol number.

Res-Q LDL-x2's with Niacin’s heart health formula contains plant sterol esters called Phytosterols, Policosanol, and No-Flush Niacin.

By combining the three ingredients into one caplet,
we can offer
multiple, unique health benefits
for a more complete care of the heart and arteries,
and take a step
beyond the area of cholesterol
and
into the world of cardiovascular health.

Some of the health benefits of Res-Q LDL-x2 with Niacin include: better circulation, healthy veins and arteries, and reduced absorption of dietary cholesterol. The standard dosage is two caplets per day. Some of our customers take more. Some of our customers choose to take 3-4 caplets per day.

At your request, Res-Q LDL-x2 is also available without the added No-Flush Niacin. That product is called Res-Q LDL-x2 Niacin Free.

However, the formulation with the No-Flush Niacin is preferable, and ideal for total cardiovascular health. Niacin has multiple unique benefits which improve cardiovascular health. Niacin has been shown in clinical studies to increase HDL cholesterol levels, and help circulation. Niacin may also encourage the production of larger lipoproteins, another important benefit for maintaining healthy arteries.

Policosanol has been shown in multiple clinical studies to encourage healthy arteries for reasons that seem to extend far beyond any cholesterol maintenance ability. Even if your cholesterol is already within the normal range, policosanol may be beneficial to take to help maintain healthy arteries.

Policosanol and Plant sterols are also helpful to take to help maintain a cholesterol level that is already normal, because it may be challenging to maintain a healthy cholesterol level throughout our life. Any extra help that we can have is beneficial.

Plant sterols help inhibit the absorption of cholesterol in the digestive tract, another way that we can help maintain a cholesterol level that is within normal range. It may be difficult to keep a cholesterol level within the normal range, due to all of the cholesterol and saturated fats that we sometimes indulge in.
