Res-Q Resveratrol: Is it the new Anti-Aging Supplement?

Why is resveratrol getting so much attention?

Resveratrol, an antioxidant phytochemical found in red wine and the skins of red grapes, is getting a lot of attention lately as the new good health supplement. Red wine gets so much attention for cardiovascular health, ever since the one glass per day rule came out. Since then, researchers have been studying resveratrol, naturally occuring in red wine, and red grape skins, to learn more about it. However, the red wine grape skin extract supplement, Res-Q Resveratrol, provides the health benefits of resveratrol without the side effects of the alcohol.

Resveratrol has anti-aging potential. Resveratrol produces the same health benefits as being on a low-calorie diet. Resveratrol may promote living longer, staying internally younger longer, and being healthier longer. Resveratrol provides longevity, energy, and good health benefits by providing the same health benefits associated with cutting calories, yet without the cutting of the calories. Resveratrol does all of this by activating the SIRT1 gene. Activating the SIRT1 gene has been shown to produce the same effects of calorie restriction.1

Now, what does this mean?

Resveratrol has the same health benefits as a calorie-restricted diet. Being overweight may jeopardize good health, and is linked to a higher risk of many health problems. Reducing calorie intake (eating less calories) and increasing calorie output (moving around more) produces weight loss. However, calorie restriction is also associated with better health and living longer. Mice on a high fat diet that took resveratrol as a supplement were healthier and enjoyed running on their treadmills more. In other words, the health benefits that are produced by cutting calories are the same health benefits produced by resveratrol yet without cutting the calories. This news makes resveratrol the new good-health supplement of this century.
